…talking about a film…
from the perspective of a music composer,..
someone can say…
the way and structure of sound and music, developing through time,
can reveal and strengthen the elements
that a story needs to project and inscribe on the screen…
…talking about theater…
the same one can say…
shaping and guiding emotions through sound and music
can function as a gradually tuning between the plot, the actors and the audience…
…from the point of a director…
someone says…
directing a film or a theatrical play is somehow psychoanalytical.
it’s a revelation process.
it’s about bringing emotions, intensions, dreams, hopes in consciousness.
. . . . . .
if we talk about those two - the director and the composer -
it is said and I believe so, that a rich expression demands a truly artistic collaboration between them…
perhaps this collaboration can be seen from different sides…
one can be the audience, the other is the actors…
…one is completely unprepared and open to any surprise…
...the other is definite, ready to act, ready to reveal or hide…
. . .
both are actors…
…they have to find out what is true as an experience…
…therefore deeply common…
. . .
both are the audience…
…they find out that they themselves are defined by others…
…they have to create an approach…
. . .
…it’s exactly there where the invitation is formed…
…and everything goes on stage…
…the empty space…
…the focal point…
…the place where we meet…
…the place of synergy…
…the place of action…
If you happen to be a film or a theatrical director and you want to go on stage,
while others beside you start to be expressively visible,
I would say we can truly share this invitation.
